Posco's stainless steel production and sales in the first quarter of 2019 increased from the previous month and the price dropped

According to a report released by POSCO, the output ofstainless steel in the first quarter of 2019 was 498,000 tons, higher than theprevious season's 467,000 tons and 494,000 tons in the same period of lastyear; its stainless steel sales volume was 506,000. Tonnes, up from 446,000tons in the previous quarter and slightly lower than the 510,000 tons in thesame period of last year; the average selling price of stainless steel droppedby 22,000 won/ton.

In addition, its crude steel output increased year-on-yearand fell to 9.406 million tons, steel output decreased year-on-year andincreased to 9.04 million tons; mainly due to export growth, its steel salesincreased by 9.283 million tons, but slightly decreased year-on-year. Amongthem, the domestic ratio fell to 55.3%, while the world's top quality products(WTP) accounted for 29.7%.
