India's crude steel output in February increased by more than 4% to 8.91 million tons

According to official data, Indian crude steelproduction in February 2019 increased by more than 4% year-on-year to 8.91million tons. According to a report by the Joint Plant Committee (JPC) of theIndian Ministry of Steel, in February 2018, Indian crude steel production was8.54 million tons.

In February of this year, India's hot metalproduction was 6.09 million tons, compared with 5.43 million tons in February2018, an increase of 12.1% year-on-year and a decrease of 4.4%. In February ofthis year, India's pig iron production increased by 16.9% compared with 450,000tons in the same period last year to 526,000 tons, down 1.9% from the previousmonth.
