Imports of flats in October were 48,800 tons, down 58.6%year-on-year, down 57.7% from September.
However, sales of sheet metal distributors and servicecenters in Brazil increased in October. Inda data showed that plate sales inOctober reached 268,500 tons, an increase of 0.6% from 267,000 tons in the sameperiod in 2017 and an increase of 4.1% from September.
In October, Brazilian plate purchases increased by 3.7%year-on-year to 267,000 tons, an increase of 9.3% from September.
Although the sales performance in October was positive, theassociation predicted that sales and purchases in November will drop by about12%.
