Summary
According to data released by the General Administration of Customs on November 8, China imported 23.079 million tons of coal in October, an increase of 1.799 million tons, up 8.45%; a decrease of 2.058 million tons, down 8.19%. From January to October, the country imported a total of 25,204 million tons of coal, an increase of 11.5%.
According to customs statistics, China's steel exports inOctober increased by 5.5 million tons, an increase of 520,000 tons, an increaseof 10.4%; a decrease of 450,000 tons from the previous month, a daily averagedecrease of 10.5%; imports of 1.138 million tons, an increase of 188,000 tons ,an increase of 19.8%, a decrease of 66,000 tons from the previous month, and adaily average decrease of 8.5%. From January to October, China's cumulativeexport of steel products was 58.413 million tons, a decrease of 6.005 milliontons, a decrease of 9.3%; the cumulative import of steel products was 11.103million tons, an increase of 142,000 tons, an increase of 1.3%.
In October, China imported 83.99 million tons of iron ore, anincrease of 8.909 million tons, an increase of 11.2%, a decrease of 5.072million tons from the previous month, a daily average decrease of 8.5%, and anaverage import customs price of 72.3 US dollars / ton, an increase of 1.8 fromlast month. USD/ton; cumulative import of iron ore from January to October was891.867 million tons, down by 4.416 million tons, down by 0.5%; the averageprice of imported customs was US$69.8/ton, down by US$2.3/ton compared with thesame period of last year.
