According to the Brazilian Iron and Steel Association (IABr), in the first nine months, Brazil's crude steel output was 26.1 million tons, an increase of 2.5%.
According to the Brazilian Iron and Steel Association (IABr),in the first nine months, Brazil's crude steel output was 26.1 million tons, anincrease of 2.5%.
Domestic sales were 13.8 million tons, up 9.6% year-on-year.
The import volume was 1.95 million tons, a year-on-yearincrease of 6.5%. Domestic consumption was 15.6 million tons, an increase of8.7%.
The association did not publish export data.
Brazil is the largest steel producer in Latin America, withlarge steel companies such as Gerdau, Usiminas and Brazilian Steel Corporation(CSN).
